We are so grateful to all of our Aveda guests, salons, artists and students from all over the world who joined together in April for Earth Month to raise awareness and funds to help preserve the planet and ensure clean water for all. Here, we highlight just a few of the many 2017 worldwide fundraising activities and share news of a special Guest Appreciation Offer!

At Aveda, we donate 100% of the purchase price (based on its SRP $12) of our signature limited-edition Light The Way™ Candle to Global Greengrants Fund, a nonprofit organization that channels high-impact grants to grassroots groups working to solve environmental problems all around the world.

Last month, Aveda Guest, Tonie Oros, purchased a whopping 20 Light The Way™ Candles after becoming a fan of Aveda while visiting our Experience Center at The Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, California. “The staff there was so amazing! They were so knowledgeable about the products and they spoke about the company and what Aveda does with so much enthusiasm, it was inspiring,” says Tonie.

Tonie is an Equine Stylist and travels extensively throughout the state of California braiding horses manes and tails for horse shows. Her client base has been with her for many years and she has found that it can be difficult to find a little gift of appreciation for them. “I know that many of my clients share my passion for caring for people and the environment so when I saw the candles I knew they would be perfect,” says Tonie.

“I purchased a few candles for myself and then a few more for some of my clients as gifts. The feedback I got from those who I gifted was so positive that it kept me going back for more. It's great to give a gift that gives back!”

At Aveda, we love fashion and artistry. Especially when we can use it to do good in the world. So we were thrilled to see so many global Catwalk for Water events taking place in celebration of Earth Month. These eco-chic shows featured visionary hair, spectacular makeup and utterly inventive earth-friendly fashions designed from upcycled and repurposed materials, including Aveda Full Spectrum™ Hair Color tubes, highlighting foils and old Aveda paper shopping bags.

Featured above are models from the Catwalk for Water show in Omaha, Nebraska hosted by the Aveda  Midwest team, which raised a total of $7,505. Funds raised will go to their local Earth Month Partner, Audubon Nebraska, to support clean water conservation work. Congratulations and thank you!

On Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd, Aveda Tribe members and their family and friends participated in the March for Science in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota – where Aveda was founded and home to our Headquarters – to celebrate the important role that science plays in creating the high-performance products our salon owners, artists and guests love.

Aveda Global Brand President, Dominique Conseil led the group that joined more than 10,000 people marching in defense of science.  Thank you to our global network of salons and Aveda Artists who participated in a March for Science in their local community.

Thousands of Aveda Artists donated their time and talent to clean water causes this April at special salon and Experience Center events like Cut-A-Thons, Walks for Water and by offering Appointments for Clean Water℠ where guests were able to enjoy beauty services from an Aveda Artist. A portion of the proceeds go to local partner non-profit organizations that support clean water projects.

Tangerine Salon (pictured below) hosted a Kid’s Cut-A-Thon that raised almost $9,000 at their four locations in Texas for their local Earth Month partner Gulf Restoration Network. Tangerine Salon started the tradition of hosting a Kid's Cut-A-Thon several years ago after being inspired by the children's artwork on the Light The Way™ Candle box.

In southwest Florida, 14 Aveda Salons in the area joined together for the first time to host a Sarasota Walk for Water (pictured below) over the John Ringling Parkway on Sarasota Bay looking out into the Gulf of Mexico. About 100 people including salon teams, their family and children (and their pets!) turned out for this special walk to support the Gulf Restoration Network.

The Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa in Covent Garden, London hosted influencer and yoga expert, Cat Meffan for an Earth Month Yoga class for guests - with all class fees donated to WaterAid UK. Check out Cat’s YouTube Video featuring her experience.

Salon Gloria Lara in Madrid, Spain hosted a benefit concert featuring singer Miryam Latrece to raise funds for their local Earth Month partner, Auara, which devotes 100% of the dividends generated by projects to bring clean water to people living in extreme poverty. To view a video from the concert, please go to the Gloria Lara Salon Facebook page.

Thanks for giving back and helping to change lives this Earth Month!
