TITLE Master Plus Stylist
CITY, STATE Cary, IL
It all began when I was about 3 years old. My mother walked into the kitchen one morning to find me sitting in a pile of my own hair, which she claimed I had cut in a nearly perfect line, except for a tail in the back that I could not reach. Then when I was in 3rd grade my mother allowed me to cut her hair. Why she had so much trust in me I will never know, but someone had to be my first client and my interest in hairdressing blossomed from there.
I began working at Modern Wave in January of 2005 as the front desk and shampoo girl. Eight months later I started cosmetology school at Haskana Institute of Hair Design. In 2007 I graduated from cosmetology school and started my career as a stylist.
It was easy to fall in love with Aveda products. They smell amazing, and the fact that they are naturally derived and made from sustainably sourced plants and flowers is something to be proud of. I have worked with these products for the last 13 years and love the way Aveda continues to improve and perfect the technology of their products.
I have taken an extensive amount of cutting and color classes with Aveda and am always looking forward to progress my education and inspire my creativity. Though I enjoy being able to perform cuts and colors, cutting is my passion. Short haircuts are my specialty. I love the challenge of shaping and texturizing short hair to balance the weight and create the perfect cut for each individual client. I really try to take my time with each client and get to know what they are looking for and what we can create together. I feel like each cut I do varies on each individual based on their wants or needs. And sometimes it's fun when I am allowed full creative reign.
