When I went to my first Aveda show—I remember and I still feel this way today: the people are the best-looking and they're the nicest people in the industry. Everybody is willing to share and loves to share, and that's just something I haven't experienced anywhere else.
By focusing on one product line and one company with a singular message of giving back to the environment, we find ourselves more and more surrounded by like-minded people, so we're getting the right people to begin with and we can narrow our focus on what we're teaching them.
With Advanced Academies in Berlin, Toronto and London, Aveda's education dollars have been phenomenal for the morale of my company. We give out 7 scholarships a year to our hairdressers. People are just so excited. These people going to Europe have never been there. And thanks to Aveda and airline miles, I'm getting to send them. What an incredible opportunity.
